This vacuum cleaner really does the job. The one I’m replacing is also a Miele but a much higher wattage and I was worried this one might not be up to it. But it’s as good as, if not better, than my old one. And it’s noticeably lighter than my old one too. Very pleased.

This product oozes quality. My marriage would have been spared a lot of tension if we had gotten this instead of a peace of rubbish bagless Vax (RSP £89), which overheated, got clogged in 2 minutes, didn’t suck in spite of supposedly being 1800W, and was generally crap quality and flimsy finish. Just DON’T try and save on a vacuum cleaner. So when I got this I was very impressed by the nice design and the quality and finish of the plastic and metal. It’s quite big BUT that makes it powerful and physically stable. I suffer from degenerative discs disease and fibromyalgia so should really not be hoovering at all, however don’t have a choice right now as my husband passed away. At the moment it’s in a three storey Victorian house with steep stairs. I find that in spite of being quite heavy this one is much easier to manoeuvre than the light weight Vax one (you do have to have SOME muscle power though). It’s well designed for carrying around and it stands upright very well. This means you can actually stand it on the narrow stairs without fearing it’ll easily fall over – the weight keeps it in place as well. The cord is long enough so I don’t get stuck in the middle of the stairs (like with the old one). The mouth piece is huge but bends well so it’s also easier to deal with the stairs even from an odd angle. The hose is very flexible. The wheels work well. There’s a clip to undo the lower part of the tube which is a little hard to do, but a lot better than trying to pull it out manually the way I had to with the old one. I hoovered all the floors and there’s no sign of it “getting tired” in spite of some pet hairs (again a huge problem with the old machine). The suction is very strong even on low settings, so you might have to open the air went if you want very low suction. I also feel that it’s sturdy enough to take a bit of knocking about. It was money well spent.

Ive been a professional housekeeper for 20+ years and had to use most of the costliest vacumes on the market, but I always swore by the Henry as it never broke and did the job plus it was the only vacume any servicemen/builders would touch if they needed one. However I’ve been using this miele for a week now and it is amazing! Lightweight, easy to get up and down narror stairs so don’t have to worry about scratching paintwork, has a tool for every nook and cranny, masses of power when you need it and less when you don’t, works on carpets, rugs, wood, stone/tile floors even the uneven ones, unlike a dyson which is more than twice as expensive, completely useless on any surface other than a fitted carpet, breaks every 5 minutes and wastes masses of man hours having to empty the ridiculously small container into a bin without all the dust and dirt flying everywhere, not to mention having to wash the filter. Why do people still buy those things?! Trust me get this miele, it will be the best money you ever spent. If you don’t believe me go to any local tip, you’ll see all the broken dysons there, you won’t see a miele, or a henry for that matter, in sight!
