This is the review of the trimmer with the vacuum. Sadly it’s a novelty and barely does anything. What better way to review it than to show you my sink after my first trim! It cuts well, as you would expect for a brand new trimmer, but sadly lots of the trimmings escape and worryingly quite a few clumps of hair too. I would estimate it only collects 2/3rds of the hair. The suction just isn’t strong enough. The two starts are because the design is good and it’s small and lightweight and cuts well.

I took a long time selecting a product to try and the differing reviews didn’t help. Maybe this one helps you?
I have the Philips MG100/16 Series 1000 Precision Beard Styler which is great for the stache and intricate work but the small head makes lengthy hard work of the beard. I leave a good amount of ginger beard droppings from my weekly trim all over the bathroom floor and it takes several days for the lumps to go down where the wife has hit me with a frying pan for “forgetting” to tidy up after myself. When I came upon trimmers with an integrated vacuum I wondered if this could ward off any future trips to A&E. I decided to stick with Philips and go for this trimmer even though people slammed it for having flimsy plastic attachments and not sucking up every last wisp of hair. Here’s the thing…it says on the tin, up to 90% of hair is captured – not 100% Do people really think it would get every last bit? Come on people! Even industrial attachments on sanders, etc don’t claim everything in their pipes. This is a small all in one unit. I have to say I’m impressed. I leave the same amount of hair every week and with this trimmer the amount was negligible. I could even get away with dispersing with my foot rather than cleaning up (hope the missus is not reading this). Bear in mind my red wiry hairs are evil and can take eyes out if not careful, managing to suck them in as they cut is no mean feat. It even coped with my chest wig although did need emptying before I could do it all. As for the plastic tabs on the attachments, just be careful. Take it easy when fitting and I don’t see why they wont last ages. I’ll update if I find out otherwise. My only wish for this product would be a shaver socket (2 pin) charger cable rather than a 3 pin plug but I guess not many people have shaver sockets so I see why not.
Overall I’m happy with this product but the only reason for a star off is that it is claimed to be a stache trimmer also….as far as I can see the only epople that this applies to are those with a detachable nose (or no nose). It’s too big and cumbersome to trim this bit of your face. For that I will stick with my aforementioned Philips trimmer which I highly recommend. Just a shame it isn’t rechargeable (single A battery) and it doesn’t have a wider attachment for the main beard.
